What is Copilot Cowork? | Meet the Builders
What could you get done when the busywork runs itself? This video introduces Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork, an agentic AI assistant that takes on complex, long-running tasks like drafting emails and preparing for meetings. As a provider of Microsoft solutions, R.B.Hall Associates, LLC can help you put Cowork to work so your team spends more time on higher-priority projects. Watch the video to see how Cowork moves work from request to finished result.
Copilot Cowork is a set of AI-powered tools being developed within the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Copilot ecosystem to help you delegate complex work to AI. Instead of using AI only for quick answers or simple prompts, Copilot Cowork is designed so you can hand off more involved tasks and free up time for work that needs your judgment, creativity, and personal attention.
The Copilot Cowork team includes leaders such as Steve Gustavson (CVP, Cowork Design and Research), Bas Brekelmans (Partner Software Engineer, Cowork), and Christopher Whitten (Engineering Manager, Cowork), who are focused on how AI can reshape everyday workflows inside Microsoft 365 apps.
In practice, Copilot Cowork aims to help you reimagine how you collaborate with AI—treating it more like a capable teammate that can take on multi-step, complex tasks, not just a tool for one-off queries.
How does Copilot Cowork help with complex tasks?
Copilot Cowork is being built to let you offload multi-step, complex work to AI, rather than just asking for quick summaries or simple edits. The goal is to let you:
- Delegate involved tasks – For example, instead of manually pulling together information from different documents, emails, or notes, you can ask Copilot Cowork to do the heavy lifting and present a structured result.
- Stay focused on high-impact work – By shifting routine or time-consuming steps to AI, you can spend more time on strategy, decision-making, and stakeholder conversations.
- Work within Microsoft 365 – Copilot Cowork is part of the broader Microsoft 365 and Copilot experience, so it’s designed to operate where you already work—across tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
The builders behind Copilot Cowork are focused on rethinking how AI can participate in your day-to-day work, so it becomes a partner you can trust with more than just simple prompts.
